I remember how fascinated I was the first time when I visited this small town, snuggled in the mountains...Entering it you forget about the vanity and the noise of the big city. You are welcome by a town, where every building is in the style of the Bulgarian national revival. The signs, the names of the streets, the hotels, and the restaurants look as if they are citations of books of the Old Bulgarian literature.
A small river divides the town into two. The charming arched bridges, the symbol of the town, keep the memory of the historic Bulgarian revolution.
I’m much impressed that even the building of the bank in the town and all the kiosks are also built in this style of the Bulgarian national revival – I’ve never seen that before.

At the town square is situated the Tourist Information Center. If you still don’t have a reservation in some of the numerous private hotels it will be good to visit it and to save time - it is not easy to a hotel with vacant rooms, especially during weekends. Here you will find all kind of information about the hotels.
Also you could rent a bicycle- this way you will move easier in the narrow streets. Inside in the Tourist Information Center you could buy an admittance card for all the museums in the town (they are many). Also nearby there are some souvenirs shops.

Koprivshtitsa is a historical town. Here are the houses (now museums) in which some of most renowned Bulgarian writers and revolutionaries were born - Dimcho Debelianov, Georgi Benkovski, Todor Kableshkov…In these houses you will see manuscripts, arms, photos, documents, and many other objects, symbols of the life in the old times. Typical for these houses are the box, the flowers, the wooden narrow steps, the gates, made this way that every time you enter, you make a bow to the home.
Due to the nearness of the mountains the air in the town is fresh and crystal. During winter the town is huddled under the snow weight and the chimneys fume romantically. During the summer, the spring and the autumn in the morning you also feel the freshness of the air.
